{"id":5703,"date":"2022-01-19T09:45:31","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T09:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advocaciapinheiro.com\/en\/?p=5703"},"modified":"2022-01-19T15:36:53","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T15:36:53","slug":"expression-of-interest-residence-permit-for-self-employed-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advocaciapinheiro.com\/en\/expression-of-interest-residence-permit-for-self-employed-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Expression of Interest | Residence permit for self-employed workers without a residence visa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>residence permit for self-employed workers <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">without<\/span> a residence visa | Article 89, paragraph 2 | Expression of Interest | Manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o de Interesse<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Expression of Interest (Portuguese: Manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o de Interesse)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The expression of interest is preferably submitted through the electronic platform (SAPA Portal) and the application is submitted personally on a standard form signed by the applicant or his\/her legal representative and may be submitted at any SEF\u2019s directorate or regional delegation, which, after proceedings and decision, will forward it to the directorate or regional delegation of the applicant\u2019s area of residence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DOCUMENTS REQUIRED<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Necessary documentation as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passport or any other valid travel document;<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of regular entry in Portuguese territory (holder of a valid visa,<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> when required<\/span>, <strong>or<\/strong> entry into Portugal within the period of the visa waiver);<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of sufficient means of subsistence, as per the provisions of Order Number 1563\/2007, of 11 December (read below: green receipts);<\/li>\n<li>Extract from the criminal record from the country of origin;<\/li>\n<li>Extract from the criminal record from the country of residence for more than one year (when not Portugal);<\/li>\n<li>Permission for SEF to check portuguese criminal record;<\/li>\n<li>Evidence that the applicant has adequate accommodation;<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of having registered with the Social Security<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of registration in the tax authority;<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of having set a company according to the law, having declared the starting up of a business within the tax administration and social security as a legal person; OR<\/li>\n<li>Contract for services for the carrying out of a liberal profession and statement by the professional association with evidence of the registration (whenever applicable); OR<\/li>\n<li>Green Receipt (Recibo Verde)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Recibo Verde (Green Receipt)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can make the expression of interest (manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o de interesse), through green receipts. In that case, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">you don&#8217;t need a contract<\/span>. It is good news for many people.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, green receipts are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">useful to prove your income<\/span>, that is, what in Portugal is called <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">subsistence<\/span> (Portuguese: Subsist\u00eancia).<\/p>\n<p>In Portugal, green receipts are used as invoices, receipts, or invoice-receipts that self-employed workers are required to issue anytime they offer a service to a customer or sell products.<\/p>\n<p>To issue a green receipt, you must request an authorization from the Portuguese Tax Authority. After that, you can issue the receipts through the Finance website and print them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/advocaciapinheiro.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Adriano Martins
