- THE CUSTOMER PROVIDES THE DATA FOR THE ORDER - The client sends us a copy of the document to be apostilled or an access code. With this, the office can now issue and apostille. If the client does not have a copy or an access code, the office will need the corresponding data for issuance (and then apostille).
- OUR OFFICE PRESENTS THE BUDGET - After analyzing the feasibility of the request, the office presents the budget related to the apostille. The customer makes the transfer to a bank in Portugal or via PayPal.
- APOSTILLATION IN 2 BUSINESS DAYS - The office carries out the apostille within 2 business days. The customer will be able to receive the apostilled document in PDF (by email or Whatsapp), in addition to receiving the original by mail (to any country). Our term starts when the money actually enters the firm's bank account.
- SHIPPING BY MAIL - After the apostille, the office asks the courier company (DHL) to calculate the shipping cost. Upon receiving the response, the office informs the client. The customer makes the respective payment. The document is sent after confirmation of this payment. The customer receives a tracking code to follow the shipment's progress.

Please note that we are in Portugal and we only apostille documents issued in Portugal.
The office needs to be sure that the document can indeed be apostilled.
Therefore, the client must send a copy of the document to be apostilled or an access code.
A simple copy (photo) via Whatsapp is sufficient.
Once the document has been analyzed, we will inform you of the cost: office fees + tax charged by the Portuguese government.
The cost of shipping (DHL) will only be calculated after the document has been apostilled.

The document can only be apostilled in the country that issued it. Therefore, if the document was issued in US, it must be apostilled in US. If it was issued in Spain, it must be apostilled in Spain, etc.
As we are in Portugal, we only apostille documents issued in Portugal.
The total cost of apostille involves: office fees + fee charged by the Portuguese government and the cost of sending the document to the client. Therefore, the apostille service has a variable price, depending on the document and the customer's address.
It is not possible to apostille a copy of a document. We need an original document.

Documents relating to divorce are considered highly confidential. Therefore, the lawyer does not have access to this document without a power of attorney with special powers.
The client will need to send a power of attorney to our office in Portugal so that we can ask for the certificate to be issued and then apostilled.
Portugal is an extremely bureaucratic country. The Portuguese government does not accept powers of attorney with digital or electronic signatures. You must sign with a ballpoint pen.
For security reasons, we never apostille documents issued by third parties. To apostille any document, we need to issue it ourselves. For example, we go to the registry office and ask for the birth certificate to be issued and then apostille it. We only ask for a copy of the document in order to view the data and facilitate the new issue.
Basically, we need to be sure that the document is true and authentic before we take it for apostille. For this reason, we are only responsible for documents that we issue ourselves.
A government tax (also known as a tax) is a charge levied on the Portuguese government. Lawyer's fees are used to pay for services rendered by a lawyer.
The easiest option is when the client issues their criminal record certificate online and sends us a copy. In this case, the office prints out the certificate and takes it to the apostille office.
But if the client can't issue it online, the office needs to make a request for it to be issued in person, at the public sector.
Criminal records are highly classified information. Therefore, it is not possible for another person to have access to this document without an original "declaration of authorization".
