- CHILDREN OF PORTUGUESE born in Brazil have the right to Portuguese nationality. Portuguese parents do not need to be alive for the right to Portuguese nationality to be transmitted
- GRANDCHILDREN OF PORTUGUESE. Grandchildren of Portuguese citizens born in Brazil now have the right to be granted Portuguese nationality of origin without the need to prove effective links with the Portuguese community.
- GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN OF PORTUGUESE. The only viable possibility for great-grandchildren to acquire Portuguese nationality through their parents or grandparents is that they must first obtain citizenship.

- PORTUGUESE SPOUSES. Brazilians married or living in a stable union for at least three years with Portuguese are entitled to Portuguese nationality.
- TIME OF RESIDENCE IN PORTUGAL. Brazilians who have resided in Portugal for at least five years, under any of the titles, visas or residence permits, have the right to Portuguese nationality
- SEPHARDI JEWS. Brazilians who are descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews have the right to Portuguese nationality, as long as they have not been convicted, with a final judgment, to a prison sentence equal to or greater than three years and prove ties with Portugal.
